Hi Alistair, Thanks so much for your email. It's great to hear from you. Things here are going well. I'm enjoying teaching at the school and my co-teachers are all great. They help me out a lot. I've also been very fortunate to have gotten a big apartment to stay in during my time here (I'm not sure if I told you) so my cats are happy running around :-) and it's been really nice living in Samcheok. I had been to this area before while I was working in Donghae but I didn't really know it that well so now I've had some time to explore and get into settling around here. I've even taken up Tae Kwon Do lessons here! Only thing I can really complain about is that after I handed the school my Residency Certificate for tax exemption, they told me that I still have to pay tax because I'd already been in Korea for two years. I told them this was my first time at a public school and that during my time at the hagwon, I wasn't exempt from tax, but they told me that I couldn't be exempt. Oh well... Students here are pretty good, despite their English speaking level being lower than that at hagwons but they are very nice and polite (most of the time) and hopefully they've been having fun learning English with me. My fiance is good. He's finishing his last semester of studies now and is preparing to graduate and find a job, so fingers crossed. I really cannot thank you enough for helping me. I feel very fortunate that I was able to get you as my agent. If you ever need anything--testimonies and what not-just let me know! have a great time on your vacation! Cheers,
Candice Planes
